What does it actually replace?
Six measuring jobs, in one device, in metric or imperial:
- Distance — dual-laser measuring, so you are not holding a tape against a wall on your own.
- Find centre — the midpoint of a span without doing the arithmetic twice.
- Area — calculated on the device, for quoting sheet, tile or paint.
- Stud detection — STUDSENSE™ finds wood and metal studs, and locates the stud centre.
- Levelling — 2-axis digital, with a find-angle mode.
- Light — a cool white LED, because the measurement you need is always in the dark corner.
Why does "wood and metal" matter on a stud finder?
Most cheap stud finders detect a change in density and report it as a stud. That is why they trigger on pipes, conduit, insulation joins and the edge of a patch.
STUDSENSE™ distinguishes wood from metal and shows you what it has found on screen, then locates the centre of the stud rather than its edge. The practical difference is that the fixing goes where it should the first time, instead of catching the edge of a stud and pulling out under load.
How do I know I can trust the reading?
Run it against something you can check. Measure a doorway or a room wall with the Sennses™ Pro, then measure the same span with a tape, then measure it again with the device. You are looking for two things: that it agrees with the tape, and that it repeats — the same span read twice should give the same number. A tool that repeats is a tool you can quote from.
Measurements save to the device and sync to the free Robbox app on iOS and Android, so a site measure can be turned into a project and sent on rather than written on the back of a timber offcut.
Is it built for a real site?
The screen is hardened glass and the body is IP54 rated — dust-protected and splash-resistant, which covers a real working day rather than a bench.
It charges over USB-C fast charge and runs up to 16 hours, so it survives a full day and then some. The semi-hard Carrying Pouch protects the touchscreen against knocks and scratches in a tool bag, and is the accessory most people buy second.
Who is it for?
Renovations, shelving and cabinetry, fit-out and hanging work, and quoting or site measure — anywhere a number written down wrong costs a sheet of material.
